What is selfpublicity.com?

It's a new kind of directory. Think of yell.com, but instead of returning lists of companies, it returns lists of the people that work for those companies (or themselves). It's a more human way of finding products and services.

Why?

There's an old saying: People don't buy things, people buy people. Think of a time when you bought a product or service where a salesperson was involved. You most likely liked the person who was selling to you. With old style internet directories being very impersonal, we thought we'd help change that.

Good Idea?

We know that once a website is built, its members decide what it becomes and how to make the best use of it. We hope this site is useful to you. We've built a number of tools to help you, with more to come.

Another thing, we've borrowed a bit of 'social network' thinking. If you invite your friends, family, colleagues and associates to join, and they do the same, the site becomes a personal recommendation tool.
